2024 fall debris

City of Geneva Property Owners and Residents

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

FALL 2024 YARD DEBRIS & LEAF PICK UP SCHEDULE

The City of Geneva’s fall collection and removal of bagged yard debris begins on Monday, October 21st and ends Friday, December 6th.
After December 5, collection will be weather permitting with no set schedule.
Please place leaves and yard debris between the sidewalk and behind the curb for city removal. Please do not block storm drainage units.    Please place all leaves and other suitable debris in paper bags. No plastic bags are allowed.  The city will provide a limited amount of paper leaf bags, at the Clerk’s office, located on the first floor of City Hall, 47 Castle Street.  Leaf bag pickup will be available during normal business hours Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Please prepare brush and branch debris to be no longer than 4 feet and not more than 6 inches in diameter. Consolidating small piles of leaves into larger piles will help expedite leaf pick up. Please do not store debris behind guiderail or in drainage ditches.
Crews will not remove debris from private property, near parked cars or in plastic bags.  No construction debris, lumber, plastic, garbage, glass, furniture, bedding, tires, stumps, rocks, metal or other bulk waste items will be picked up.  Please consider recycling and coordinate with your trash hauler for these items.
You are encouraged to bring all yard debris to the Resource Recovery Park at 41 Doran Avenue on Wednesday 7:30AM - 3:00PM & Saturday 8:00AM - 12:00PM where a limited amount of FREE MULCH will be available to residents.
Additional hours may be posted based on weather conditions.
Please contact Public Works office at 315-789-3101 if you have any questions.
