community meeting

The IDA, LDC, BID, and the Department of Planning and Economic Development have been working together to review what capacity each group has and what we can do together in the short term. Next Thursday at the Geneva Public Library we will give an overview of what we’ve learned and what we’re doing with that information. We will have a draft of the final report, which is expected to be a living document that the involved groups will revise based on feedback at the meeting and in the future and that we will use as a tool to check in quarterly on where our work is going.

One of the biggest things that we’ve heard from the community is that many people want a direct avenue to be involved moving small ideas forward. Toward that end, we will be encouraging people to sign up to start their own citizen work groups to connect with each other and work together as neighbors toward a variety of shared goals where anyone can make a difference.

We will also be at Good Neighbor Day Saturday the 28th from 2-6pm at the Library pitching the volunteer opportunities and providing games for people to play.
