Traffic Counters (Tube or Camera setups) are being placed by the NYSDOT on various streets. NYSDOT and DPW have recently received inquiries regarding the cameras being setup by the Department’s traffic count contractor. In response to recent questions, please see the below information:Cameras should have a label with the name “NDS” (National Data Services) on them and should look like the pictures below. There has been an increase in the utilization of these cameras as they are a great alternative to tube setups and offer many benefits, including being safer to install and for the traveling public, lower cost, improved data accuracy, and less interference with snow and ice operations. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to Engineering office at 315-789-3101 or email us at complaints@geneva.ny.us
